Earth, Wind, Fire, and Sea -
First learn their proper order.
Wind, Earth, Sea, and then Fire,
And when all else is gone -
Wind will remain and remember.
Wind was first, and was never conquered.
Wind rules all, and never tires.
Blasting, tearing, and freezing the Earth,
Throwing and catching - quickening the Sea,
Cherishing Fire and ice, embracing them.
Next is the Earth, first slave to man.
Earth who hungers for the blood of man,
Thirsting since fed by the firstborn.
Earth waits with sinister patience -
Waits to devour each man.
Next is the Sea, who strives with man,
Hoarding his depths, and striving also with Earth.
The Wind is his lover, the storm is their dance.
The Sea is strong and is moody,
And the men that he takes - he keeps.
Fire, the raging child, is never satisfied,
Hypnotic siren; great pain with great beauty.
Terrible brilliance, awesome destructive power,
Desperate hunger, living only to devour,
And perishing always, always in writhing famine.
But remember that Wind rules them all,
And remember that Wind remembers.
Brief, bitter, and long-scattered are her memories,
But when all else is gone they will suffice -
For only Wind will search them.
